Brought in a Seiko 5 that had been sitting in a drawer for about seven years. Aran went through what he found before touching anything — loose cannon pinion, dried lubricant throughout. He sent photos when he opened it. The watch came back keeping good time. Process was unhurried and communicated clearly.

My dress watch had a fogged crystal and scratches across the bezel. Natthapat explained what she could improve and what would remain visible — she didn't promise more than was realistic. I appreciated that. The result was considerably better and still looks like a watch that has been worn, not a display piece. Turnaround was about a week.

My grandfather's Omega Constellation hadn't run in over two decades. I handed it to Tickwright with very little expectation. They found a cracked balance staff and a corroded setting lever — called me before doing anything further. Eight weeks later the watch runs and the dial is clean. The progress notes at each stage made a difference to how I felt about the wait.

I've had two watches serviced here. The first was a straightforward service on an ETA movement — no surprises, came back running well within three weeks. The second had a worn mainspring. They contacted me before replacing it, gave me the cost, and waited. Both experiences have been the same: calm, clear, no pressure to spend more than you asked for.

Hard to find a workshop in Bangkok that takes the conversation seriously rather than just taking the watch. Aran knew the calibre immediately, which was a good sign. The written condition note when I collected was more detailed than I expected — it explained what the movement showed when tested, which positions, what the rate was. Useful to have for the future.

I was nervous about the Vintage Restoration Program as the watch belonged to my late father. Kanjana explained the whole process on the phone before I even came in, which helped. They sourced a replacement stem and a period crystal — I didn't know that was possible. The watch is now worn daily and I think my father would recognise it.

In Detail
Three pieces, three different journeys
Case Study 01 — Mechanical Service
A 1970s Longines manual wind, not opened in 18 years
The Situation
The owner inherited the watch and wore it briefly before it slowed significantly and stopped. No record of prior servicing. The crown had some resistance and the caseback seal was visible but dried.
The Work
Full disassembly. Ultrasonic cleaning. The mainspring showed fatigue and was quoted separately — the owner approved. New mainspring, fresh lubrication with oils matched to the calibre's clearances, timing check in six positions.
The Outcome
Running within +8 seconds per day across dial-up and dial-down positions. Owner collected with a written note stating rate, service scope, and coverage period. Timeline: 2.5 weeks.
Case Study 02 — Vintage Restoration Program
A mid-century Swiss pocket watch, family piece, non-running
The Situation
The pocket watch had been displayed for decades without running. The crystal was missing. The dial had foxing spots but remained intact. The movement wouldn't wind — a broken click spring was discovered at assessment.
The Work
Staged restoration across four sessions. Click spring sourced from specialist supplier, five-week wait. Dial carefully cleaned without intervention to patina. Period glass crystal sourced and fitted. Owner approved each stage before proceeding.
The Outcome
Pocket watch now runs and keeps reasonable time for display and occasional wear. Complete photographic record of every stage provided. Total project: 11 weeks. Owner: "I didn't know this was still possible."
Case Study 03 — Crystal & Case Refinishing
A steel sports watch with case wear from daily use over eight years
The Situation
Deep hairlines across the mineral crystal and mixed polishing on the case from previous overcleaning at another shop. The owner wanted the crystal addressed and the case to look more consistent, but not "too new."
The Work
Crystal replaced (mineral). Case assessed: brushed flanks restored, polished surfaces left as-was to avoid over-working. Bracelet end-links cleaned. Natthapat documented before and after with photographs at multiple angles.
The Outcome
Clear crystal, more uniform finish on the case without the "just polished" appearance the owner wanted to avoid. One week total. Owner kept the before/after photographs as a reference record for future servicing.
